Dear Lovelies,
Hello again! This morning I read
the talk “Be of Good Cheer” by President Thomas S. Monson from the April 2009
General Conference. My favorite, and possibly more well-known quote from this
talk is “Your future is as bright as your faith.”
President Monson starts off talking
about some challenges and trials our world had been facing, at that time. BUT,
then he reads a scripture to balance things out.
(2 Timothy 1:7) “God hath not given
us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
The Spirit is here to guide and
comfort us. Like it says above, he won’t create fear; that is Satan’s doing.
Also, “our attitudes will not...remove
our troubles from us, but rather will enable us to face our challenges, to meet
them head on, and to emerge victorious.” (President Monson)
My favorite scripture from this
talk is: (John 16:33) “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good
cheer; I have overcome the world.”
I know we are not alone. He is
right there waiting for us to ask, so He can reach out and help us.
Sincerely, Shelbi
