Dear Friends,
This morning’s study was kind of a toss-up.
I could either read the last talk from this week’s Institute required
reading...or I could evaluate my life as it currently stands.
Well, the results are in: my life
evaluation seemed to be a more pressing matter. After listing the things I SHOULD
do daily, I listed the things I WANT to do. I decided that everything on my ‘should’
list was also on the other. I also had two questions, once I had brainstormed
my life: 1. Am I doing enough? 2. Am I doing too much?
Once I had created my daily
schedule with all the contents of my lists, I looked at it, still feeling that something
was off. There was one item on there that I felt was necessary, especially since I did it every day. But, I prayed
about how I could fix it and then listened. I just sat there until the words
flowed. I grabbed paper and made another list, this time of things to change.
I am glad I was directed to think
more about my daily choices. I know I will have Heavenly Father’s help as I strive
to do what He asks of me.
(1 Nephi 3:7) “...for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the
children of men, save he shall prepare
a way for them that they
may accomplish the thing which he
commandeth them.”
Sincerely, Shelbi
