Well, it’s here. There’s about 4 inches of snow on the back
deck. We are supposed to get a minimum of 12. Woohoo. I seriously thought this
was going to be more fun. Alas, it’s not. When we lived in the western half of
the country, we would get snow sometimes as early as October. It would all melt
and be gone for good in March, though sometimes later. One Sunday morning, I remember
waking up to 4 FEET of fresh snow. All the brethren from church, including Dad,
had been up all night shoveling off roofs so they wouldn’t cave in. We still
went to church, even with all that snow.
On the other side, today has truly been good. I have felt so successful the past two days, and it’s amazing. I woke up, took a deep breath, and looked outside (I was still excited for snow, at that time). I didn’t have a written list of things to do today, just ideas. I had some phone calls to make, school work, and chores. Something had changed, though. There was no mental pep talk, just reassurance from on high.
Sincerely, Shelbi
